35th Ward Alderman Carlos Ramirez-Rosa says Mayor Needs To Go A Step Further and Reopen Mental Health Clinics

“I’m glad that Mayor Emanuel announced common-sense reforms to the Chicago Police Department, but the Mayor’s job is far from complete. Ending violence and promoting safety requires a comprehensive approach that ensures Chicagoans have the health services that prevent conflict. Mayor Emanuel needs to reopen the mental health clinics he shuttered in 2012.”

Alderman Carlos Ramirez-Rosa is a lifelong Chicagoan who has dedicated his life to public service. As a community organizer, former congressional caseworker, and now Thirty-Fifth Ward Alderman, Carlos has always put our families and our neighborhoods first.  For more information about the 35th Ward please visit

Stand Up for Human Services!

NA4J LogoSaturday, December 5, 2015 at 1:30

Plumbers Hall

1340 W. Washington Avenue

Stand with the state employees to rally throughout the state to get a fair contract! Rauner’s Administration contract demands to downgrade human services delivery. It hurts the state employees and us by eroding our standards and quality of living.

We want:

  • No cuts in health costs!
  • Resilient wages for employees and step increases
  • Protections against irresponsible privatization of public services
  • Politically free paychecks with no “merit pay” schemes

We join with AFSCME members for local governments, state universities, members of other unions, and members of our communities who suffer from Rauner’s refusal to work toward a fair budget, his harsh cuts to program that aid our at-risk populations and his fierce hostility toward working people to have a voice through our unions

For your convenience on the north side of Chicago, the Alliance provides a bus with three stops to the rally Saturday. Call Kathy at 773-791-3523.
